Who we are
David Parton Furniture is run by David Parton as a sole trader. He decides how the personal information described here is used, and is responsible for it.

Information you give us
When you email, phone or write to us, or send drawings or photographs, we may collect your name, contact details, the address of the property, details of the work you have in mind, and photographs or drawings of your home.
We use it to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange a visit
- prepare designs, drawings and a price
- make, deliver and install your commission
- send invoices and keep business and tax records
- help with aftercare or alterations later on
Our lawful bases under UK data protection law are:
- taking steps you ask for before a contract, and carrying out that contract
- complying with legal obligations, such as keeping tax records
- our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and keeping records of past work for aftercare
We only publish photographs of finished work in a client’s home, or a client’s comments, with their agreement, and never with their address.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only where needed to run the business:
- our email, telephone and IT providers
- our accountant
- suppliers or fitters working on your commission, where they need the details
- HMRC or other authorities, where the law requires it
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t go ahead are deleted within two years. Records of commissions, invoices and payments are kept for at least five years after the relevant Self Assessment filing deadline, as HMRC requires, and may be kept longer to help with aftercare.
When you visit this website
Hosting. The website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, and keeps it in short-lived logs. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Fonts and images. Fonts and photographs are served from this website itself. Your browser isn’t sent to Google or any other company to load them.
Map. The map on the Contact page only loads if you choose Show Map. Google then receives your IP address and may set cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.
Links. Links to Google reviews and Google Maps take you to Google’s own sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Cloudflare and Google may process information outside the UK, under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, which sites visitors arrive from, and how quickly pages load. It records the page, the referring site, the type of browser and device, and the visitor’s country. Cloudflare states that it doesn’t use cookies or local storage for this, and doesn’t fingerprint or track individual visitors.
We use these statistics only to improve this website, and don’t share them with anyone else. UK law allows this without asking for consent first, provided you can object. You can turn statistics off for this browser here at any time, free of charge. We also switch them off automatically if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it
- limit how we use it, or stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests
- give you your information in a format you can pass to someone else
Requests are free and we reply within one month. We don’t make decisions about you by automated means.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and do our best to put things right.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
